INTERVIEW SKILLS

INTERVIEW SKILLS

7+ and 11+ Interview Preparation.

Interviews have become an essential aspect of the selective assessment process. Schools are increasingly assessing and observing children interacting in small group activities alongside the one to one interview. The interviews highlight a child’s social skills and confidence levels as well as the ability to follow directions and interact with other children. Our intensive interview skills workshops and sessions provide a valuable opportunity for your child to be fully prepared for  alloptions. We work on a range of skills needed including clear communication, active listening skills along with the confidence to express opinions as well as an understanding of the world around them. Schools are increasingly relying on critical thinking and problem solving, asking more abstract questions which require children to be able to think out of the box and on the spot which we practise as part of the interview skills set. We offer one to one as well as group interview training workshops throughout the year.

Individual Interviews

  • We will give our students time to understand the process and work on specific areas such as voice projection, eye contact and positive body language

  • Give examples of the type and style of questions asked and how best to approach them

  • We will give our students the confidence and skills to create an excellent impression

Group Interviews

This year, we have seen more schools choosing to use the group activity as the basis for their interview. where children are interviewed and observed interacting in small groups. Skills tested will include:

  • Listening skills

  • Leadership qualities

  • Teamwork

  • Behaviour

Our group interview skills workshops are incredibly popular as they are fun and highly interactive and cover a range of activities and tasks used by so many of our selective schools. Following the group interview activities we will make observations and recommendations to best help your child to understand and be confident with what is expected to enable them to present themselves in the best way possible.
